I was wondering if any of you guys/gals have done a comparison between the Lsi9 and the LsiC for center ch duty? I know that ultimately the most important fact will be how it sounds to me, but I was just wondering what you guys thought. :)

I have always like the LSiC and have not had any issues with it. I know a few people who had an LSiC that were not happy with it and replaced it with the LSi9 or swapped the crossover from an LSi9 into an LSiC and were happier. (the crossover is very close but not quite exact. For the differences, click the link in my sig about my LSiC Crossover upgrade)

Anyway - I would try the LSiC first and see if you are happy with it. If not, try the LSi9.

    Good luck with your search.

When I was running 5.1 I had an LSiC and liked it perfectly well. My impression, echoing previous post, is that those discontented with LSiC performance are a minority.

OTOH I seem to recall a Polk employee posting something to the effect that LSi9 vertical dispersion is quite good, so that a 9 on its side, tweeter up, could work well enough as a center channel speaker.

    The choice is yours. :)
