    Yes, way better.

Feed them, and they will reward you!

I'd love to trade my RT1000's for some 55's.

I've never heard the 55's, but I've always heard people say that they're the gem of the older RT series. $200 is a pretty good price, and they look like they're in good shape. I'd go for it if you've got the coin.

They'll eat R50s for lunch. Even in the bass department. I liked them, but didn't love them the one time I had them here. Could have been the room. Still, a big upgrade from Rs.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B

A nice book shelf...will work well for you with that sub...better tweeter than the R series! I'd offer 150 or less. Let's put it this way--I wouldn't pay more than 150 for the pair? See if you can drop the price!

I have the RT55's and yes they are great speakers but they are not your typical bookshelf speaker. They are huge for a bookself speaker. I was A/B them with RT800 in a HT system. That is a great combo. I used them as front mains. I really like the RT series. They are very under rated.
Polk HT system 1: LSIC, LSI25 mains, LSI F/X rears, Lsi F/X rear centers,

They're awesome. I got a MINT pair off Craigslist for $50 earlier this year. Dad has a pair and my experience when I was home is why I sought another pair.

I agree as well, they'll eat the R50's for lunch. Those were some if not the best of the RT series.

I do find it interesting his spam link at the bottom of his ad though to draw more search responses:

Thanks guys, Im waiting for the guy to get back with me now. As for being bookshelves, they would be used as my mains replacing the R50's. Hopefully he still has them.
