The yellow WalMart MAXX batteries are the best deal I've found: 8 year warranty, 3 year FREE REPLACEMENT, only $75.

Last one I bought was at AutoZone. It will be 7 years old in January, still going strong, about $50.

You don't want a cheap battery, you want a good one. Can't tell you how many of our cheap-o Valucraft batteries were brought back when I worked at Autozone. Usually they just quit working one day... no warning. I'm guessing something internally broke in them. Still, getting left sit when you expect to go out and run to work does not make people happy, even if the battery is under warranty.

Now, my Duralast Gold on the other hand, 3yr free repl, 7 yr pro-rated... and it's on it's 2nd year and still cranking fine. I think I paid close to $90 for it, tho.

A junkyard. You can actually find new batteries there at a fraction of the cost to a new. Go find it yourself. I located a 650cca Interstate that tested new and looked new for only $15. And I went there to get a pair of A pillars for an audio install in my truck (tweeters) when I saw this battery I thought would work in my Honda run-around-town ride.

The Duralast from AutoZone. They are made by Exide or Interstate for Autozone last I checked and they are usually less than $70.

Pep Boys also has perpetual sales on batteries and their ProStart line is Exide or Interstate as well, equally cheap and they offer a favorable core return. When a battery is on sale at Pep Boys, I have been able to pick one up as cheap as $45 after the core was returned.

+ 1. This is the cheapest way to go. Alot of the newer cars are going to salvage because they aren't worth much after minor to medium accidents and the insurance companies are totalling them. You can score a good battery for cheap. I even found a very fresh set of Pirelli tires for $10.00 each once.

    Check it out Ben!
