this Universal Player is currently a Holiday lightning deal on Amazon for $80 with free shipping. only for about another hour though in case anyone needs a fairly cheap universal player. I've put a claim on one myself any suggestions for a good first SACD for it? I really likeJazz, blues and Rock and Roll from Classic to Modern.

    Besides the $36.00 Yamaha, I also got a new Onkyo 506 universal player during the Thanksgiving holidays. On the other hand, at $80.00, it's hard not to be tempted. Even though I am a big supporter of SACD, you can't have too many spare players that can play the format.

    I grabbed a Diana Krall for my first one, but I may have to pick up at the very least the SRV Texas Flood and the Norah Jones, never been too big of a Dire Straits or Pink Floyd fan but its seems those two albums are mentioned the most so I may have to pick them up at some point.

    That Keiko's got pretty good taste!!

    I also run a Yammie Universal player...pretty good for the money as you can get them for very little coin!

    The Yamaha universal player is pretty good to listen music.You grab this at such less price.Now enjoy it by listening songs from your favourite genres.

    I don't think i have anything but region one stuff... but good to know in case i do find some good import dvds

    Open the disc tray.

    Press clear on the remote.

    Enter 2 8 0 5 on the remote.

    That's good to know as I will be bringing back some discs from China and I already know that they will not play on my Dell laptop.

    Got this in today and hooked it up and put in the Diana Krall SACD.. wow what an experience. I'm definitely going to have to pick up some more SACDs. Also put in a CD I listen to and I'll be damned if my imaging isn't noticeably better as well as a little bit bigger soundstage as well. Its amazing what putting in a quality audio player does. Now the Toshiba XDE I was using, is no slouch in HT and upconverting video, but its CD audio abilities are way lacking compared to the Yamaha..
