Interesting....Sanyo has always made some of the better "low-end" stuff. I bought a Sanyo 19" color tv about 20 years ago, its in the kids room now and it still has a very good picture for that type of tv.

Once you use Eneloop batteries, you won't go back to normal NiMH. They are awesome. I use them in both digital cameras, in my wireless mice, and in both of my Harmony remotes. That is one thing Sanyo knows how to do.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Sanyo has always been Panasonic's top competitor. They are in every industry and market that Panasonic is in. Sanyo has always made some rugged gear. Never really looks like much but it's built to survive. Something Panasonic and Sony don't really do anymore.

But like what was mentioned, one place Sanyo truly is head and shoulders above all is batteries. I used their cells for RC car racing for years and they outperformed all the stuff from Panasonic and Eveready drastically. I don't really think Panasonic has "better parts" than Sanyo. I think they just have different parts. Panasonic has a better advertising department than Sanyo though.

In the older days Sanyo's parts were mainly Sony's I guess now there gear will hve Panasonic's parts versus their competitors (Sony that is), I am not sure if this is a good thing?

    Cheers!
