Does anyone have any experience with this receiver? I had to dig on the Pioneer site to find it as they have it kind of hidden. In what I've read in forums, someone speculated it was a rebadged Elite. I don't know why Pioneer would do that.... On the site, it states that it is a promotional item and is in limited supply. Well after looking and looking, the most info I could get was that it was a Canadian version of the 03TXh sent across the boarder to hit new markets..... Whatever, I never had a Pioneer before and I bought it, so I guess I'll be finding out when it gets shipped to me next week.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

I got this receiver yesterday and so far, it seems to fit the bill as an upgrade from the Onkyo tx-sr605. It drives my Polk Monitor 70s fronts, CS2 center, PSW505, and Monitor 30 surrounds very nicely. I haven't had time to explore this receiver, which from what I read in specs comparison and reading forums, is a Canadian vsx-01txh without the Elite moniker, the amber display, and the Elite warranty. Specs are vitually identical. The only thing added in the 9130 specs over the 01, is the 140 watts relative power per channel which I take as just a marketing ploy. I don't know what relative is referring to here anyway... I haven't had much time to explore it yet, but the biggest difference so far seems to be in music - much more defined and clear. It has the coveted preouts that everyone here seems to think a receiver should have. I know nothing about external amps, or what that would do to the sound, but I guess I'll get curious eventually.
The only thing I might have done differently now, if I had known, was to go ahead and bought an Elite from 6ave. com over the phone, which would have gotten me the 2 year warranty as opposed to the one year standard.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k

Oops, instead of "relative" power output, I meant to write, "related". Still don't know what they're referring to.
xcapri79, I will explore an amp at some point (need to recoup funds now as this "small" upgrade turned into a large one for my checking account). Now, as to what and how much to spend will be sources of many more thread topics here ( I see you use Emotiva - will need to check those out). Sometimes its nice to be blissfully ignorant of what you're missing as it saves you lots of money.Pioneer vsx-9130txh-k
