Migration advice

As I continue to improve my setup, I'd like some advice in doing so. This will be a gradual process, with no timetable in mind. I'm leaning towards phasing out my current polks to the lsi series.
My sig lists what I have, so based off that, how should I proceed if let's say I was to replace the center channel first then the mains? I think I'd need to add on amps to power the lsi's.

I am not familiar with your specific receiver, but the LSi's are known for needing some high quality power.

I will not even start suggesting which one to buy, except that you should state your main objective. HT or 2 Channel I mean. If HT is your thing, which it looks like you are ready and able, then a feature packed Receiver(e.g. Sony ES/Pioneer Elite) may fit your bill. If you are a 2 Channel man, then something hardcore like separates are your best bet(e.g. Adcom/Marantz/B&K). There are two brands that have a large following around here, that combine the two theories of HT and 2channel power, Rotel and B&K.

My suggestion as a route would be get your self squared away with a nice high end 2 channel setup, for now. By this I mean buy a receiver/integrated/etc. that can support the format you wish to use, 5.1/6.1/7.1 AND get your mains. That way you have the guts ready, and can migrate your other speakers out piecemeal.

Just a thought, you have opened the doors to alot of discussion. Set you spending limit for the forum, that is helpful. Good luck and keep us posted.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    HT :)
The yamaha is a 6.1 rcvr.
I know it's not suffice to power the LSI's so I'm looking for options :)

What are you looking for in the LSi series for mains? 7, 9, 15?

That yammie claims stability down to 2 ohm, how true that is, I can't tell you without trying it out. I would upgrade your mains first. It also has pre-outs for all channels, you main want to gradually add external amps, instead of replacing the receiver.

Bottom line, I think you will be more than fine for now, bag your mains, see how they run on your rig, then evaluate whether or not you want to move to something else, or add external amps.

You can usually find Yamaha amps in the $1 to $1.50 per watt range used, but any high current amp would probably due the rig justice. The usual crowd, Rotel, AMC, NAD, Adcom, Onkyo, HK, Marantz, Parasound, Carver, etc etc etc will more than likely mate well.

    My o-two anyway....

Adcom would do the LSI's MUCH justice. Totally awesome amps, if you decide to add external amps I would not single out Adcom. They have CLEAN, CONSERVATIVE power! They are more than capable to drive low ohm loads!

I would do the amp first. With LSi you will definitely need to upgrade there at some point. If you do the amp first, then you will be getting the most out of the RM7500 too, and raise it to a new level.

Next I would do the mains, then center, then surrounds.

After that you can start thinking about cables and power! Woohoo!

I'm looking at Adcom for my LSi's. I like the sound together, but I will readily admit I don't get to check out other brands much. Adcom is my main choice since I would get an employee discount for it. I'm thinking the 7807. :)
