LS 70 burnout?????

i have a pair of ls 70 speakers, they sound awful funny on one side i think the speakers are blown , how do i tell if this is the problem with out lugging them in for service. also if they did blow how come? and what can i do to prevent this from happening again after i fix them.

    Couple of things to try....switch speaker sides and see if the funny sound moves...if it does..then its the speaker. You can more then likley find a replacement speaker for them through polk.

    distortion from overdriving the amplifier is what usualy does it in for speakers....to prevent it...in the future...be sure to have an amp that can play cleanly for your listening enjoyment...
