Need help getting a rental truck

I need to rent a truck to pick up something 210 miles away. The thing I'm picking up is a CNC machine for woodworking and it's 3w x 5l x 3h. The smallest rental truck would work and I could probably get away with using a pickup truck, though, I'd like to ensure it's safe from the weather in case it rains. I can't find any good deals on a way to get it here for under $200. The cheapest I found an SUV for with unlimited mileage is $75 with tax and it's a Chevy Trailblazer. I would need to take the back seat out in order to make it fit, which I hope it would.

Does anyone know of a way to get a cheap rental truck? I think Warlocks works for a rental place so if you're reading this, HELP! :D

Enterprise Car Rental used to have full sized cargo vans you could rent. You probably need to call a few days ahead so they can make sure they have one available.

UHAUL? They have vans and pickup trucks and such. You can go to Sears and get a Budget truck as well. Also, like dkg already said, Enterprise rents trucks too and they are, by far, the cheapest, at least in my area they are.

Another option might be Rent-A-Wreck. It's just gotta last 400 miles or so, ya know?

If I lived closer I'd just tell you to pay for gas and we'd use one of my trucks. But you're a bit far.

I've recently used U-Haul with no problems. Here in central PA the rates are discounted quite a bit for single day rentals on Sundays. Much cheaper than other days of the week.

I implore everyone within the sound of my voice to avoid U-Haul. I have never had worse customer service or experiences than with U-Haul. You may ask why I keep going back, and there are a couple reasons :
    - When helping friends move, they don't take my advice.
    - Once in a while I'll try them again because they are usually cheapest and I figure my experiences must just be an anomaly.

A list of things that has happened in various U-Haul experiences :
    - On two separate occasions (YEARS apart) we received trucks that were from the 70's, diesel, 4-speed standard without power steering. From two separate locations. We were never even asked if we could drive stick (luckily we could).
    - We once reserved a truck from a storage place. We had it reserved for 8AM. Sat around until 9AM waiting for ANYONE to show up. Finally called U-Haul... whose corporate office didn't open until 10AM! At which point (still no one had shown up) they told us there was nothing they could do; U-Haul locations are independently owned and operated, despite the fact that their reservation system is system-wide.
    - Two separate occasions the place we went to did not have the truck reserved; once they had no excuse at all, and another time insisted they didn't even have our reservation. Again calling customer service got us nowhere except running around to various other locations begging for trucks.

Those are just the ones off the top of my head; I'm sure there have been other bad experiences. Never once has a U-Haul rental gone without a hitch. Have rented from other companies (Budget being the most pleasant) without a problem
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Well not to defend Uhaul im sure you had a bad experience but I worked at one of the rental locations for about two years and It is ALL about who is working there. So back to the task at hand, I just checked yesterday on a truck because work wants me to deliver a cooler about 450 miles away and instead of using my truck and losing two days work I checked into budget, It was 49.99 a day and .19 a mile, the total was going to be about 260. So that is close to what you were thinking. Since you are only going less then half of what I would be and you would only need the truck for a day Im sure you would be just fine within budget. Good luck and I have started my list of thing that you could make and them Karma then to me haha.

Oh and that was for a 16' truck you could probably get a 10' but I'm not sure how much cheaper it would be.

One more thing make sure to try to do the reservation online and you can also do a quote. Make sure if you choose to go this route that you select the option to return to same location.
