Pioneer SC 05

Pretty damn pissed, spent the weekend cutting holes and runing cable for the inwall speakers, Plasma TV and Pioneer receiver I have had for nearly a year, get it all hooked up and nothing from the subwoofer. I have two subwoofers, tried them both, 3 different cables.

Going trough the set up, it is set for subwoofer YES, running the test tones, silence when it comes to the subwoofer.

Dead subwoofer out on this receiver is all I can think of, anybody got an idea what I might be missing?

    Try running the subwoofer on plus instead of yes.

    Have you tried testing the subwoofer on a full range, Large, pre-output?
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Did you try plugging the sub cable into a different output like the center of front outputs just to rule out it being a sub and cable problem. Going thru my menu to see if I can find a setting you might be over looking.

    Did you run MCACC?

    OK, try this. There's a Audio Parameter button on your remote. Stroll thru there and make sure the LFE setting isn't set to off.

    Just a thought.

    I've found that young people recover quickly from being disturbed by gunshots, smoke inhalation and naked women in the backyard....what's the difference?

    Set sub to NO, and run it off the front pre-amp out.
    Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

    That would work but what's the point of having a feature if it doesn't work. He needs to solve that issue first.

    It's just troubleshooting Leroy.

    ok, I need glasses and my 14 year old needs to help me read better. we had the interconnect plugged into the multi channel input for the subwoofer. Basic 101 error.

    better light and a few less beers and I got it all squeared away.

    Man is that a familiar solution to alot of my problems from the past and I WILL use it again.

    Walk away....calm down...sleep on it...go back and find out reason.:D

    I'm glad you figured out the reason it wasn't working.
    Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
