Was checking out Amazon, to possibly get Zeppelin's "Mothership" on vinyl. Maybe i'm seeing things but it seems that there is 2 versions of this album. Ons is Original Master recording for $57 and another that's $80 but is says that it's 180g Half speed. Has anyone compared the 2? Is it worth the extra $20+ for the Half speed. Thanks

I've heard from someone whose ears I trust that the redbook version was horribly hot. I hope they did better on the vinyl version especially the half-speed master.

I am very interested to find out how they sound. Keep us apprized.

    Thanks.

Everything I have heard/read indicates that Mothership whether on CD or vinyl is mastered very hot/loud. A friend had the CD version and it was unbearably so. I bought The Song Remains the Same box set on vinyl last winter and it is mastered very nice. I would opt for that set.

Thanks for the linky Keiko. I only have 1 lp thats 1/2 speed, Santana Abraxas. To me, It's an awesome sounding album. That's the reason I'm interested in the 1/2 speeds.

There is a box set of "The Song Remains the Same" at my local FYE. That would be a nice stocking stuffer.

That Abraxas LP is to die for.
