Be sure to read labels at the grocery store

Ever stumble thru the grocery store and pick up an item out of habit without reading the label - then get home to a WTF moment?
Happened to me the other day.
Was making homemade burritos with some red chile powder from New Mexico that I picked up over Thanksgiving.
I needed some tortillas and went to the grocery store and just blindly picked a package from the 'usual' spot.
Got home, whipped everything up, the whole family was drooling at the anticipation of delicious burritos.
My youngest son bites into it and starts to make "this tastes like sh#t" face.
He smells the burrito and says "Dad, there is something bad funky wrong with this."
I smell my burrito and sure enough - something just doesn't smell or taste right.
My wife looks at the tortilla package and says, "You dummy, these a butter tortillas".
Butter tortillas????????
They tasted HORRIBLE - but who would like such a thing - never heard of such a thing.
We all tossed out our burritos and instead dumped the burrito filling over some chips and finished dinner.
I tossed out the butter tortillas and learned a valuable lesson - gotta read the lables!

Never heard of butter tortillas. I would not expect them to be bad though.

Dude - they just plain smelled and tasted funky.
But - I suppose that someone, someplace, might like them.

These had that nasty artificial butter flavor that went one step further into funkiness - did not taste anything like real butter.
Could be just me.....:p

My wife made the same mistake before with the "Butter" tortillas. Luckily she also picked up some regular freshly made ones as well. Those butter ones are just plain nasty.I know just enough to be dangerous, but don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm a genius.

That was it...that artificial butter taste is horrible .
I remember watching mom make home made tortillas and melting real butter on them while they were still hot.The first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club -
I love flour tortillas with just butter on them but that artificial butter tastes rancid.
