Odyssey Stratos Monos and Tempest Pre

I LOVE my Odyssey set-up, so it is with great regret that I have to part with them. We got new furniture and now my monos don't fit in the room the way my wife would like
:(:(. She's put up with my audio-isms for five years and now wants to have her family room turned back into a FAMILY room. I think I'm going move to an integrated to save space, but I'm keeping the Odyssey Loreleis. So, here are the particulars:
Odyssey Stratos Mono Blocks: These are the originals, black faceplates, bi-wire option, manual, box(I think just one). I'm not the original owner, but I've been babying them since I bought them 4 years ago. They have GOBS of power and will drive anything effortlessly. $1295 plus shipping and paypal.
Odyssey Tempest Preamp: I bought this directly from Klaus five years ago. I think it was his personal unit. The finish is a rare, gunmetal black. It has the remote option, phono as well. Also I had him trim the faceplate down to 18" so it would fit into my cabinet. It has a cleaner look than the standard 19" faceplate. $595 plus shipping and paypal.
Buy both and I'll cut you a deal. Local pick-up welcome and I'm willing to meet up anywhere in Ohio. I'll try and get pix posted soon. I don't get e-mail notifications when I have a PM or reply to a post so e-mail me at ljupp@sbcglobal.net if you don't hear from in a couple of days.
Hanx!!!

Do you know what color the boards are in the Stratos'? And do you know if the Tempest is the "Extreme" version?
Thanks!Aaron

The only person I was really warned about was some guy named Ricardo (OH, crap - that's you!) and some other wack job that goes by Heiny....something.
I've been told the rest of this bunch are "normal"??Aaron

Define "normal"?
How's your soldering iron? Ready to tackle the Dared in a week or so? Only problem I see is getting at the nuts that hold the binding posts in place in the rear panel. I hope to hell we don;t need to pull the main board out. Need one of those long swivel sockets perhaps????
How Chinese are you?

EDIT: Ooops sorry to the OP, forgot this is a FS thread......my apologies"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? Got's a brand new one! Works and everything. Weekend of the 12th - not a good idea, boys are getting confirmed on the 13th and I'm guessing the Boss will have a few items on my to do list.
I usually pull the old binding posts through the chassis with a big vice grips.
I own a pair of the Khartago mono-blocks, red board mods and currently have a Candela on order from Klaus - could maybe upgrade to Stratos mono's if they are red boards...?Aaron

The Strats have the green board and the Tempest is the standard, not extreme version.
Also, I forgot to mention my original post that the Tempest has an extra pair of outputs so you can integrate a sub if desired. -
Avalon, sorry but as good a deal as you have listed I'll pass - if they only had red boards!!!
(Yep, Klaus would upgrade them if I needed but Christmas is just a bit to close for spending all of the money in the box buried in the back yard. )
The rest of you - that Tempest is a heck of a deal!!
The Odyssey line of products is beyond reproach - Klaus will never do you wrong!Aaron

Sorry for the delay. Here is the Tempest pix. My rack is not located in a well lit area. The flash photos make it appear too Silvery which it is not. The darker photos where taken without the flash and is more representative of the real thing. The smudges are in the unit are not permanent and will wipe off. I didn't realize they were there until I viewed the lighter photos. -
Just curious... Does the Tempest have HT by-pass? If so, how is it done? (unit off, switch, etc)SystemLuxman L-590AXII Integrated Amplifier|KEF Reference 1 Loudspeakers|PS Audio Directream Jr|Sansui TU-9900 Tuner|TEAC A-6100 RtR|Nakamichi RX-202 Cassette

Sorry, no HT by-pass. My HT system is in the basement and I'm using this in my two-channel setup.
I think Klaus can add it, but I think it may require the phono section to be disabled.
