Cheap Setup Question
Hey all, i'm building a low budget HT, i started with some RT25's given to me and just picked up some M20's for cheap. My question is which set of speakers should i run as the front speakers. I have a horrible center channel and i want to match the one i buy to the speakers. From what i've been reading in the FAQ section these speakers don't match so the required center channel would be different? Thanks for all the help.
Forgot to add the setup is in the corner of a finished basement. About 7.5' ceilings, and the rest of the room is pretty much wide open.

The front 3 speakers are the ones that should be timbre matched. It is much less important for the surround speakers to match the front ones.
I would assumed you will be using the M20s as the front L/R speakers? If so, I believe the matching center channel for those was the CSM. I have one of these, but have not seen them sold anywhere lately.
What are the dimensions of the room? Also, the M20s were not known to have very good bass, so you might want to look into a subwoofer. Newegg routinely runs deals on the PSW10, they just had it on sale for $99. -
Thanks for the input. I really wasn't sure which set of speakers to use for the fronts. I haven't hooked up the M20's yet but i have been running the RT25's as the fronts and was pretty impressed with the sound of them. Which speaker would sound better as a front speaker? Once i figure this out then i will look to match it. I did forget to mention that i do have a decent sub already and it helps with the bass a lot. I made a little sketch of the layout of the area where the system is in use. Hopefully this will help, one thing to note is that just behind the center couch the ceiling height reduces by about 1'-1.5' for heating. Also the tv's are hanging recessed in a wall so the screens are just flush with the wall. This recess will allow me to go either way with the speaker as far as bookshelf vs floor. I have the space for either.

Maybe if i word this differently i will get some more input, If we consider this a starter setup with improvements coming down the road which Centerspeaker should i get, CSIa4 to match the RT25 or the center speaker for the M20's. I have read a lot of good things about the RTI series and i think i am leaning towards getting that center. HELPPPP!!
