I also contacted Ebay about this ad. I use Ebay, and if this is a false ad, which I think it is, then it is a violation of Ebay policy. If any of you are also concerned please voice your thoughts to Ebay via the Help menu. Here is a quick link if you wish to use it, thanks for your time.

This guys says he has 145 shipments of these speakers that he plans to sell! I hope someone at Polk can do something about this. There are going to be 145 people out there that will think *that* is a representaion of Polk or Polk quality.

He revised his description today, too. Probably after all the mail from you guys saying that the stuff he's selling has nothing to do with Polk.

"On Apr-13-03 at 01:23:20 PDT, seller added the following information:
NOTE: These are not from Polk directly so they do not say "Polk Audio" on the speakers. They are factory direct, Polk Audio material, from one of the manufacturers that makes Polk speakers. Visit the manufacturer at www.asiansource.com/forgings.co"
"I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

F1 - Yea I have went thru that web addy a bunch and did'nt find anything that looked like a Polk speaker. Except for a dipole/bipole speaker that looked a little like the FXi series, but anyways. He's full of shite. Have they responded to you yet? I emailed them and got the automated response, as well as another email for a survey about the help they gave me. I have'nt received a response to my original query, so why the hell would I give them feedback on "How they are doing"??

It's eBay's policy not to respond to the complainants other than the auto response. If they don't remove his ad, I'd give them a big PISS POOR for their feedback.

I agree. This auction is insulting to Polk owners, and new owners.

I saw a speaker on Ebay today called "Fluance", even the name sounds ****. The specs were generic, and the pics were also flattering, but at least they didn't mention an affiliation with a manufacturer. I'll give you a link and guess what they look like........it never ends

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3017908706&category=14993

And in addition, I don't recall EVER seeing a pair of "Fluance" on Audiogon.....is it just me?

Must be good.... they named a city after the company... ;)

At least here the feedback is good and does not look to be fake.

www.fluancespeakers.com - Fluance Speakers are real, they are a new company. If they had bookshelfs I'd consider buying them. They look good, and have good specs, and have a REALLY good price tag.

Yes they certainly do have good feedback, and if the buyer is happy, thats all that matters. But that name!!??? Fluance....sounds like **** cabaret or the hobo theatre version of Chicago....

Speaking of Fluance - These days it's hard to buy a bad speaker, but you can still buy one that doesn't sound good.
