What kinda power does this model require? More or less than say....a pair of SDA2a's? And which of these models would be the preferred one? I know that last question may be dumb and very subjective though.

I have heard them driven with about 25wpc and was surprised. It all depends on what you are planning what you want to drive them with, what room space is, and what you expect.
BenPlease. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

Room is about 24'x16', mostly music. Heavy metal to blues to jazz. Maybe 10% movies. Power is an 85 watt receiver, have an existing 185 watt powered sub.--Gary--

100-200 watts of high current should do it for you. What is your budget?JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut)

I drove my pair, that I got from that **** Abernathy with a Carver TFM45 at the time, 1 horsepower per channel (dunderheads can google that). The good news, they are EASY to drive, very efficient - the great news, I couldn't bust 'em.
They took everything we threw at them at the 2nd Texas Polkfest (see showcase). God love him (and where the hell is he btw? Wandering the earth like Kane in Kung Fu?), Bruce (Tour2ma) rocked the 15's SO hard - Mark and I were outside, out in FRONT of my humble abode at 3am, and the 15's were setup in the BACK room, walls, sheetrock, insulation, double pane storm windows, drunk polkies - all at least 60ft away and between us, ei: INSIDE in a fairly well constructed house - and it was clear as a bell, **** you not.
What a great speaker. I didn't do any upgrades, short of RDO tweeters, and Ronco'd them. Done. I'd love to have a pair again. Real Time Array and LS series are Polk's audiophile heritage sans SDA.

I was disappointed with my RTA 11Ts until I upgraded my source. 80WPC did not do the trick for me whatsoever. My story can be read in all its gory detail here: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86478
Upgrading my receiver was a profound improvement. -
halo71,
I suggest a minimum of 225 watts per channel for optimal performance, Period.
You'll Be Glad That You Did.

Russman you are THE man and the 15TL is THE speaker!
I wouldn't change mine for nothing in this world.
They are so vital to me..they give me joy and pride. What a solid speakers they are..what a beautiful sound.. -
And I sold mine a few months before reading this thread. I needed room but I guess I could've stuck em somewhere for a while longer. I've had a great collection of Polks and still have some but I'm thinking NOW I made a mistake letting them go.:(Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
-
Sorry to hear that. I hope some day you'll be able to bring another set of 15TLs to your listening room. I have four of them and I'm thinking on adding another set to the collection, but my wife I'm sure will divorce me

The stuff that has gone through my fingers...If I only had a barn or owned a self storage complex.
I still have my memories of those rta15tl 's.Pretty awsome sounding. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I know what you mean my friend.
-
I believe I still had them when a guy gave me a set of SDA-SRS2's. The guy asked if I wanted the sda's and I said..
I don't have any room to put them right now but where we're standing will probably do.:D.
So 7 weeks later he and his son brought them over and put them on movers dollies for me in my shack so I could move them around when I got the room.
I now have the room but have sold some Nice speakers and gear to get it.:(.
I might post some of what I have left on the FS forum soon. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
