Awesome thriftstore/goodwill purchase

So the last Polk purchase I got from thrift stores was the pair of RT25's I currently have for sale...... But I walked into Goodwill last night and thought there was nothing good, until I rounded the corner in one of the aisles and saw the most massive speaker cabinets I've seen in some time. They're certainly the largest I've seen in Goodwill. Usually speakers of this size are some ghetto-blasters of no-name brand or Technics, most often with disintegrating surrounds and smashed tweeters.

The ominous black grilles presented themselves to me, and for some reason they were very firmly attached. I scanned them bottom to top, and at the top of each grille read "Klipsch". What in the world are these? I had to pull my key out to pull the grille off, apparently they're held on with 10-12 high power magnets. Behind that were two horns and a 12" woofer. Still I have no idea what they are..... But here are the pics

Forte II's!

I just sold my set of KG 3.5's (2 pair) because they weren't that great to me, but I did a quick google on my phone about these speakers and ran out of Goodwill with them as fast as I could. I crammed them both in my trunk (how in the world did they both fit????) and went home as fast as possible. A father and son saw me loading them and got upset since they went home to get a receiver to test these speakers before buying. I bought before testing (the usual game I play).

Got them home, hooked them up, and they sound beautiful. To the point that I'm going to sell my B&W DM2000's. I'm not a Klipsch fan, but these are awesome. These will go in the listening room, (the Polks are in other more-utilized systems).

Yay for Goodwill, and $73.

I want to move to your area. Man, the deals never cease...

Nice man, I found a Sony AVR at goodwill once. I was assured by the checkout person that they test everything, and when I got it home... nothing. Upon returning it I was informed that they in fact do not test anything. Sometimes to the extent that they are unsure whether or not the item turns on.

15" I do believe. The Chorus II is a very respectable-sounding speaker (better than the Cornwalls, e.g.) with appropriately empathetic amplification.

Agree, the Chorus II's and the KG-4's are respectable Klipsch offerings.

I'd like to grab some KG-4's at some point to replace a pair of LS-50's I have in our workout room. Nothing wrong with the 50's, but the punchy, loud, quick 4's would be a better fit for that room and purpose.
