    ^^^^

What he said...however, they're actually 12" deep when the grilles are on. The bottom part of the baffle is 12" deep as well.

That's just the 2A's though...the SDA 2's and 2B's have slightly different dimensions.

Thanks guys. The reason I was asking, a guy has them on craigslist about 15 miles from me. here's the link:

    http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/ele/1490037630.html

He also sent me pics of the water damage

They have no interconnects, and one of the speakers was replaced with the wrong speaker. He was asking 225, but told me he would come down to 200. I think that in their current condition the are worth more like 100 based on the interconnect (35 bucks on ebay), and replacement driver ( 65 bucks new). That, and I'd probably have to either verneer them, or sand the hell out of them and refinish them. Am I wrong in my estimate of what they are worth in their present condition? What would you do?

    Thanks, Christopher

If he gave them to me I'd take them I would not pay much thats for sure. Then pull the drivers and passive and give them to fellow Polkies.

I'd say $100 at best, but that is me. Tell him the prices you will have to pay to get them right. BTW I believe the Club Polk price on the mw is $48.00. Plus it's gonna take time to get them right. Make sure that the water damage is not making the cabinets separate or puff up.

    I'd pay 100.00. A little more(150) if I had a pocket full of money.

I guess the stain isn't water damage. I figured he had a plant on top of the speaker, or at least something like that. Here's what happened:

The stain on the one speaker was actually caused by a stupid decoration my wife had and the base came off. I used gorilla glue to glue it back on and didn't know the stuff expands as it dries. The glue stuck to the speaker but thank god I used pledge recently, and got the glue off but the stain remained. As for price, I will come down to 200.

This was taken from an email he sent me. I think the gorilla glue might actually be worse than water.

$200 is too much. Not sure where middle of nowhere is but you may want to keep looking for some 1Cs.

I suspect the glue is going to be a problem eventually. You could re-vener them.

you could apply a stain darker than the existing stain damge, varnish/poly/lacquer after staining.;)

Yep, I'd prefer 1's to 2's, but it's all about availabilty and price. It's just going to be a matter of patience on this search.

I was actually planning on it. I was going to stain them to match my floors which are a dark red mahogany. I would probably end up verneering them first though. There is no way I want to walk up to anything in my house and see a big stain.

IMO, $200 is too high. I paid $200 for my 2A's that are in great shape. Those have some damage, a mismatched MW, and they're the less desirable SDA 2's to top it off.

I wouldn't pay any more than a hundred or so.

Here's the latest from this douchebag.

Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine, and you offered him 50 bucks less than you offered me. Nice. He still didn't buy them tho because at 50 bucks less they are still overpriced.

Thats cool. But i have to say that you are killing me though. Replacement driver is 60? And i know you cant get new ones anymore so i sell to you, and you part them out for 5 drivers at 60 ea? Plus 4 good tweeters and the crossovers. You do the math. Based on your numbers, 200 is a steal. Lol offer stands if you want them.

These are the sda 1's which are the next model up from yours. They have 1 additional woofer, include the interconnect cable and original manual, and are in about the same condition cosmetically.

    Hey Tim,

I took a closer look, and it's not the right speaker for the model. The correct speaker is about 65 bucks. You don't have a picture of the water damage on the top of the speaker, but I'm guessing it's significant based on your rating of 6. That, and no interconnects makes these speakers worth about 100 bucks. Please dont take this the wrong way. I'm not slamming you, and this is a private conversation. I'd still be interested in them, but not for what you're asking. If you think I'm being unreasonable take a look at the Very good condition (ie no water damage) sda2's in ft myers (1 town over from where my mom lives) for 175, and they have the interconnect cable.

    http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/ele/1486880166.html

So if I were to buy yours, I'd have to replace the wrong driver, refinish the speakers, and buy interconnect cables. I'd really like a pair like yours as a project pair. Something to work on as far as the finish, and make new interconnects, but the price is way off. I'll call you tomorrow to discuss it.

Hello. I've been looking for these speakers for a while now. As long as there are no issues other than cosmetic, I'll take them. Also, what replacement driver was used. Please let me know.

Wow, first of all we're '****' low balling him?

It's not our damn fault he can't replace a driver with what's required. Again, I bet that driver's load is different than the ones inside the SDA's. They're not in the best shape, and he wants more than they're worth.

The hell with him, I thought it was enough for him to flip out in an email he sent me but to continue talking like that behind our back I kind of want to go to his place and confront the POS.

Don't even bother with him Christopher!

Wow, never knew Polk owner's were '****'.

People kill me, they are trying to sell something and act like that. I had emailed a seller locally a few weeks back asking about some naked drivers he had for sale. Asked for some pics, cause he is like an hour from me, and he replies back. "Look if you want the damn things come get them. I am not wasting my time taking pics and emailing them to you."
