Looking for Advice with Subwoofers

I was wondering if anyone had advice on a subwoofer for my current setup. I'm not sure what factors come into play with subs but my price range is up to 1000$.

I am currently using:

2x Front RTI A7 ( bi-wired )
1x Center CSI A6
2x Rear RTI A7
Pioneer ICEpower SC-9540

I dont know much about subwoofers but i mainly use these speakers for music and blu-ray movies. Music for the most part.

    Wow, that's a loaded question. Since you're in a Polk forum, I'd suggest the DSW PRO600 as its probably the best DSW/PSW series subwoofer Polk has offered in over a decade.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Cant argue with Doro. For Polk, in your price range that is a good sub. That said, my speaker setup is full Polk except for the sub. Low end is handled by a PS-1200 by Paradigm. I'd love to try the 2 side by side but I doubt that will ever happen.

    That's a pretty nice subwoofer Chris....don't lose any sleep over it :)

    $1k can get you a lot of sub. Do you want new or used?

    I don't have a preference between new or used.

    Is there maybe also an alternative to consider if i don't want to wake up the neighbours? I live in an apartment and i cant imagine not getting complaints with the DSW PRO600 haha.

    Any sub your drop a grand on is gonna get you complaints from the neighbors if you're in an apartment:p

    I'm partial to SVS, but admittedly I haven't heard many other subs.

    I think it was Fry's who had the Polk MicroPro subs for 1/2 price.
