Subwoofer hookup

Well, I just bought a PSW110 sub for my 5.1 home theater system. It was a Sony 5.1 theater system with clip-on wire speakers. I didn't like the Sony subwoofer so I switch out. The thing is that the Sony system doesn't have a LFE connection or any RCA connection that could connect out to the sub so I just simply ran the clip-on wire speaker to the Speaker In (One Red Left & One Black Right) like bridging it...Do you think it's best to run like that? Or Could show me the best way to run it without using RCA cable or Speaker Out?

Is PSW110 a good sub? I recently bought PSW110 for 100 buck from BestBuy on BlackFriday. Do you think I got a good deal out of it?

Deps how much you spent for the PSW110, otherwise we can't tell you whether it was a 'good deal' or not.
As far as hooking a sub up, those are your only possibilities really. RCA Line in/LFE or speaker terminals. Alot of us have used those methods at one point or another, but I prefer to use the LINE IN rca inputs. If it works out for you, then by all means use it.
Also when you said you used one red left and one black right, I could've sworn you were supposed to use both the left AND right red (+) and black (-). That way you get the bass that is produced from both channels sent out to the subwoofer. Of course, be careful not to mix up wires in the process or have them short out.
Does the Sony receiver/integrated/whatever it is have ANY audio outputs? You can use those to hook it up to your new sub.
By the way, welcome to CP!Truck setup
