Does anyone here have experience with either of these 2 channel tube amplifiers? I recently purchased a pair of Polk tsi500's that I'd like to use with my Macbook w'Apple lossless? I'm in the market for smooth warm sound.

The Nova is not really a tube amp, it only has a tube in the preamp section."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Thanks, yes i know that it is a hybrid. It has advantages of both worlds. Or so it seems.

I got to spend a good long day with the Peachtree recently, hearing it by itself and in combo with other amps and preamps. It is kind of slick in that capability of being just a DAC, or a DAC/preamp or being everything!
I'd say the DAC is it's stongest point. It'd probably do just fine in a heads up comparison with a Benchmark I'd think. And that's pretty good company! Some pretty good attempt DIY tube preamps did best its pre. And several good amps like a Pass were better, like they should be. But all in all, it was a pretty neat piece and for it's price point is certainly a nice rig.
The whole idea of it is that with your laptop and a pair of speakers, you have a system! Now you can, if you want, piece in other parts of the puzzle and try about any combo you want. Or, you can just leave it simple and enjoy!!
