Polk is discontinuing RTi/CSis in Cherry?

So I am thoroughly confused with what happened to me today...I was at Frys in Austin, TX for Black Friday and I had the intention of buying another pair of Polk RTi12s @ $399.99 for my computer room. As I was waiting for the guy to come back with my invoice, I saw that the RTi A9s (in cherry) were also selling for $399.99 (NEW!!!). Assuming that it was a fluke, I went ahead and got them because there was only one more pair available; it wasnt but a second later that I saw that I looked up and saw one more CSi A6 in cherry for $119.99 (NEW!!!). The sales guy had said that Polk was discontinuing the cherry finish, and as such, they were pricing several of the RTis to sell. Is this true? Im so glad that I got my speakers for the price that I did...Im just wondering if those speakers are going to be discontinued if Ill be able to buy another pair in the near future.
BTW...theyre still selling the A9's for $399.99 online, but you have to have them delivered, if anyone is interested. They have the CSi A6 as well for $199.99, not $119.99 like I got in the store.

You must have gotten there right when they openned! By the time I got there at 6am, the CSiA6 and the RTiA9's were gone.....and they were trying to unload the older RTi line. It looks like they bait and switched...sold a few of the RTiA line speakers, but had a crap load of the older RTi line in stock. My System Showcase!

eh that doesn't seem right to me that they are discontinuing it. Its a beautiful finish and I love them as they look like art just standing there. They also had the MircoPro4000 for 700 or 800 bucks which is insanely cheap for a new one! Damn that was a nice sale wish I would had known about.

damn. a pair of RtiA9s at $400 new is pretty sick. Online price seems to have them at $400 each speaker thoughOnkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s

I went to frys today and got the last pair of rtiA9's in cherry. They were 399 each and they gave me a free psw111 along with them. I asked about the cherry and they said its not polk discontinuing the cherry its just frys not carrying them anymore. They supposedly sell more black ones. I am so excited that I got the last pair. My system is finally finished. I moved my rti150's to rear duty. Which if you know are almost the rtiA9's. Just a few models older. My system rocks. I dont even need the little sub they gave me. With four of polks biggest towers set to large the bass is crazy and sounds amazing. Merry christmas to me

I lucked out on the 9th of December and managed to find a pair of the cherry RTiA9s (still in the box) tucked out of sight in the Fry's Electronics in Wilsonville, Oregon. Yep, $399 each...I could not believe it. And I got the same story that PA was going to discontinue the cherry veneer in the future...doesn't make any sense to me.Parasound P/HP 850 Preamp

I guess if Polk is selling more black finish, it doesn't make sense to spend the money on manufacturing the cherry finish...I could have gotten my M30's in black or cherry for the same price, but I picked black because it went better with all my other equipment. Maybe others feel the same way.- Jeremy
