New to Forum & Polk Speakers
Hi All,
I'd appreciate some help on this... I have a 12X20 family room in my split level home and am looking to get a surround setup going. Couch is on one wall, 52" Sony XBR4 is about 10' away. I just pulled the trigger on an Onkyo TX-NR807 (Newegg) and now I want to get some speakers, but just wondering how much is too much. The budget-friendly line appears to be the TSi(s). I'm thinking either 300s or 200s (on stands) for the fronts, CS10, and 100s for the rears. Also considering the free PSW111 being offered by some retailers. Not too distant future would be OWM30s to complete the 7.1 setup. I'm questioning the value add since they'd bee about a foot behind angled down from the 7' ceiling. Given the room size and ceiling height, I'd welcome any feedback on the speaker/sub choices. I don't want to go deaf, and at times I'll need to leverage the Audessey low volume benefits of my receiver since I have school aged children upstairs. Any insight is appreciated.

The middle of the road line is the TSI speakers. If you are looking for budget freindly check out newegg for the monitor series. They are the older version of te TSI's. Also check out polk direct on ebay for good deals there as well.
Personally i would get either the monitor 60's or tsi 400's and monitor 40's or 200's for the rears. I have had the OWM3's before i think they would work out well to fill in the 7.1 portion. If you want to up the budget a little check out the RTiA series at polk direct.
Good luck and welcome to the club.Front - RTiA5's
Rear - RTiA3's
Center - CSiA4
Sub - PSW110 -

Thank you to all who replied. All said and done, I felt more comfortable going with the TSi300s for the fronts, CS10, and TSi100s/OWM30s. Got a package deal on Black Friday that essentially took 50% off the DSW Pro 500 sub. In the end, it was the white papers on the Polk site that swayed me...:)Sony KDL52XBR4

newegg has had some good prices on there Monitor series speakers ,They had the Monitors 70's for $169 a piece and free shipping.I bought a pair of them and they sound good and look good and they have decent bass ,and the midrange and mid-bass sound a lot better to me then the monitor 60's that I had.The CS2 matches up good with them and it on sale for $109.with free shipping.I would go with the monitor 30's for the sur-round if you are going to hang them on the wall ,if you have a shelf then I would go with the 40's.ONKYO TX-SR607

Nice looking system...I couldn't agree more about your fronts (M70s) I also think they image 'better'! Wider sound stage than the smaller models....when given more POWER!
