My SDA SRS needs a few SL 2000 replacements.

The loudness is less on at least two tweeters. I measured the resistance and get 4 ohms and I do hear a crackling noise from the tweeter when I attach the ohm meter.

Anyone want to sell a few?

Peter

    Hi Guys

I got a few offers for some sl 2000 tweeters. Thanks very much. Is there a test method for determining if they are working properly? I'd like to test all of them to determine if others need replacement.

    Resistance measurment?
    Ear?

    Thanks again.

AT low volume I just connect my speaker leads to the back of the tweeter. I am sure there is a better method but thats trhe one I have.

It may be the tweeters are fine and that it's time to replace the caps on the crossovers.

    Just a thought.

I think I still have a couple around here as well if needed.

I connected the tweeter to the speaker cable and it didn't sound good. Thanks.

What is the option, if any, for upgrading the sl2000 today from Polk.

Are the sl3000 or RDO 194 options?

I would like to keep the cross over stock for the time being.

When I listen to my SRS they always sound harsher compared to my 2.1TL.

I'm ready for an upgrade maybe.

RDO-194's are the upgrade/replacement for the SL2000 tweeters.
RDO-198's are the upgrade/replacement for the SL3000 tweeters.

The RDO-194's are alot more laid back than the harsh SL2000 tweeters are. Definitely worth the upgrade.

    Thanks leroyjri

Do the 194's fit in the tweeter space with no modifications?

Hmmm....I wrote to Polk asking about the RD0194-1 to replace in my SDA 2B's and they told me they were the SL2000? Sixty bucks a piece plus shipping. I had an amp go terribly bad within the five year warranty period when I bought them new and they kindly sent me the SL2000's for replacement so I've been listening to them for about 15 yrs now and they sound great to me. Of course I'm 49 and have been exposed to alot of concerts and such that maybe I don't hear as good now :)
