What's better? They play a little deeper? Did you look at M2's? The M2's will play *that* deep, and you won't have a tinny Mylar tweeter.

Heard em both, the Atrium is by far the better sounding speaker of the 2.

    Cmon Ron, 'home tech'? Sheesh.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I know Russ, I know. I just don't want to dump 2 Franklin's for Outdoor's and I'd rather not order them off ebay to save a few coins.

I've gotta give'em a listen. I've heard the Atrium's at CC so I gotta give these a shot. I'm after inexpensive as they will be out front and visible from the street.

Roger that, hell, you may like em enough to do the job. I run cheap-o's out back for 2 reasons, visible from street (corner lot), and they do what they need to.

Only problem so far is having to replace them after every Texas summer, but at a cheap price, hell, they're disposable. While you are there, might as well check out the $30/pair KLH's too.

Just didn't want you deciding on specs alone, which doesn't appear as what you were going to do anyway. ;)

    Cheers,
    Russ

Ron, another option is the JBL Northridge series. I have the JBL N24AW which I picked up for less than $100 from Harman Audio. I noticed they have the N24AWII $149 on the web site (I don't know what the II represents in the way of improvement). I noticed they have the JBL N26AW for $128 which is a nice deal. I like the sound of them a lot, especially for an outdoor speaker. I wanted the Atrium 45s but I didn't want fo pay that much for them. BB sells the JBLs. Go give them a listen then check out Harman Audio.

Check'en the CC website, they have some Jensen Satellite's for $34/pair. They are small and might just do the job as well. I gotta give these a listen as well.

These are only for some back'round noise during BBQ's and the like, they'll never get cranked so preformance is not a big issue at all.

Thanks for the other heads up guys. It's just about lunch time. I'll report back.

Not on topic, but hey, how do you get that little red "system" icon on your posts. I have my system posted already, but saw no option to add that.

My N24AWs did. It is a swivel mount that can be used for mounting on the wall or hanging from under the eves. I don't know about the N26s.

The quest continues. No luck at CC, the white colored Jensen's were outta stock. But, they had a black pair on display, not a bad sounding little speaker for $15 a pop, but not quite enough for an outside location where noise and chatter will abound. Never made it to BB, had to hit Lowe's, Home Depot and the gas station first...ran outta time.
