Hi there, I'm completely new to this and need some help. I just bought:
2 monitor 60's
1 CS2 center channel
Sony STR-DH500 5.1 receiver
PSW 110 sub
My questions are:
1. Since the speakers did not come with any wiring, what cables (and how many) do I need to purchase?
2. How exactly do I hook up all 4 of these speakers?
Thanks so much! This is all new to me.

Well for starters depending on the location of your speakers in relation to your AVR, you could need up to 150' or so of some good 14 or 16 gauge speaker wire and a decent RCA sub cable. As for how to hook it up...your AVR has speaker out terminals usually marked with red/black posts and they should be labeled...cener to center right to right etc...your AVR should have a sub woofer out, you will use your sub cable from that to your sub.

Knuckle is right...get good quality heavy gauge wire....from monoprice or bluejeans online.
You don't need 150' for 3 speakers......50' or less will do....
You will strip the ends and connect the + to the + and the - to the - on the speaker to the same on the appropriate channel out terminal on the back of the Sony...L +/-, C +/_, R+/-. You'll need to decide what lengths to cut...get a pair of wirestrippers.
You will also need to buy a sub cable....from the above sites...buy the length you need, 6', 10', 15', 25' etc. The length will depend on where you plan to put the sub.
The RCA ends of the sub cable will to into the SUB OUT on the Sony's back and the LFE or Unfiltered IN on the Polk sub.
Good luck...

Thanks a lot guys! For the sub, I noticed their are 4 speaker in's and 4 speaker outs. What do I do with these?

You don't have to do anything with those. Those are if your amp doesn't have an LFE/preamp out. What you would do in that case is run the connections from the L/R speaker connection on the AVR into the sub, and then run the cable from the next set of terminals to the Monitor 10's. Since your AVR has an LFE out, it would be best to use that.Home:
