Comparing the A9's to the RT3000's isn't really an apples to apples deal since the 3000's are powered. I would probably prefer a non-powered tower since I have plenty of subwoofer with the SVS. It can be a bit tricky to dial in the right setting for the RT3000 subs when blending with another sub.

The FX1000's have dual tweeters and dual mid drivers where the A6 only has one mid driver. I don't see a dipole/bipole switch on the A6's. The CS1000P is by far the best Polk center I've heard. It's the only center that has a built-in sub and makes deeper vocals come alive front and center.

This is the third set I've seen go for $1000 or less. Kind of sad they're going so cheap. They were $7,500 new and are still as awesome a setup as they were when in production. Mine aren't going anywhere soon. :D

Well, my champagne tastes and beer budget allways cause conflict. I saw the a9 set up for sale in milwaukee for $1300 in the forums but just can't do it. So I am going "vintage" with the RT5000p set up. Found them used in rosewood with RT3000p /CS1000p /f/x1000 for $500 for the set. It should at lease be an interesting experience. Thanks all for sharing your impressions of different set-ups.

Well, they seller told me he was given them for helping someone move and store things. And after a year and a half of storing them himself that the speakers are too large for his small house. Therefore, he wants to "upgrade" to a smaller bose acoustimass system.

My current set up is RT8 / RT5 / CS1 / PSW150. After reading this and other forums, the opportunity was too tempting to pass up. I may end up selling the RT5000p set up for the too large factor...though I doubt it!!!
