New bulb?

I have come to the realization that I have the worst tv in the house in the "mancave" and was wondering if a new bulb might help with the picture on my 4 year old Hitachi LCD?

I can't tell if the performance of the newer, smaller tv's are just so much better or if a deteriorating bulb is affecting the picture and performance.

My tv has lost the wow factor. Anybody swap out a functioning bulb for a new one and see an improvement?

Happy Thanksgiving

If its and LCD projection tv then changing the bulb will absolutely help bring the picture back to life, no tellin how many thousands of hours that bulb has on it. It well bring back the brightness and POP that it use to have when you bought it.

In that case how much would it even be to change out the bulb? Would it even be worth it?

When I replaced the bulb in my old Sony SXRD it was around $115.

Alright, I guess I will try it. I have a local dealer who has been advertising lately. It will cost me a little more but I like local.

    I will let you know.

Maybe youv burned the lcd panels??? if so then toss it because bulb dimming should not affect the picture quality a great deal when it comes to contrast

I have 2 flat panels 3 pj's, The bulb ran out on a 720 model but in the last few hours it looked as snappy as my plasma giving out roughly 300 lumens on a 100" image
