Spoiler-

Of course it goes without saying that Meryl Streep gives the absolute consumme' performance here.....as usual. Overdone, but delightful.

Did I say dat?

Meryl's quite the hoot to watch, and the flashback to the 50's is well done, if not overcooked. And an even bigger hoot is the timeless SNL skit of a young Dan Aykroyd as Julia Child.

Everything else is about a boring 30-something no-talent writer who loves to cook, but has no actual writing talent so on her husband's urging, she blogs about doing the entire Julia Childs French cookbook of 500 + recipes in a year.

We see a talented actress, Amy Adams immerse and marinate herself into the role of a person I'm sure I'd never want to meet or read.

Conclusion: Meh. Bland as English pudding.
Endure only in cases where you have severely negative WAF and sucking-up is required.

just to provide a little counterpoint... Yorkshire pudding is anything but bland.
