Not that I'm aware of but I understand the POV. The CSi3 is a recommended center channel for both bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers. I've seen more questions about available space vs size in my travels. Not everyone can fit the CSi5.

Hence the reason why I have a csi3. I can't fit the 5 in the space I currently have. I have no complaints about the 3 mated with the 8s and 6s. Mind you I don't know any different either. I would eventually like to get the 5, if I can convince my wife to allow me to wall mount the panny. That said, if I don't wall mount the panny, I'm happy with the 3............................for now!

I think that if you would audited the sci5 side by side against the sci3, I think you would have chocen the sci5 and made changes to your cabinet to add it in... even if it meant changing the cabinet... ha ha ha...

Maybe, but I know that spending another 700 for a new a/v stand plus an extra 150 (above what the 3 cost) for the 5 will not make up the benefits of the 5 over the 3.

Trust me I have thought of every way possible to fit it in. The only way for me is to wall mount the TV and have the 5 sit on top. The real issue is that the cold air return is centre of that wall where I'd want to mount the TV. Plus we are not sure how much longer we will be in this house for. Not sure if I want to be putting holes in the wall, who knows....

I went to Fry's to snag a CSi A6 this morning (Cherry for 119!), but alas they were sold out. I did get a black CSi5 brand new though, and have been testing it this morning. I'm sure it needs some time to break-in, but the whole front sound-stage has cleaned up tremendously. When I was using the CSi3, I really could hear the limitation of my center channel.....it didn't image as well as the mains, didn't have as much detail in the mid-range, and it struggled to match the output of the mains when things got loud. With the CSi3, the center channel stands out very obviously, in a bad way. With the CSi5 the center blends with the mains seamlessly, and all three front speakers just disappear. The front sound-stage now integrates perfectly with my sub (placed nearfield), to the point where the LFE track sounds like its coming from the mains and center.

It is a massive center channel though....I had to put my TV on top of an auralex gramma so the CSi5 wouldn't block the screen. Its a temporary solution until I get the time to mount my TV on the wall. I'll post some pics of it next to my CSi3 so you guys can see how big it really is.

On another note, I still have the CSi5 that selkec sold me on the way, and will be putting that up for sale once I make sure that everything is in working order. I got it from him for 140, so the price will be firm at 140. (I'll already be taking a slight hit on paypal fees)

mystik610 - I'll buy your CSi5, if nobody's claimed it yet. I tried to send a PM but it didn't appear to work.

I'm currently running a CSi3 with the RTi8's....and the CSi3 can't keep up IMO. The RTi8's really dwarf the CSi3 IMO....less mid-bass response, and doesn't image as well. The dialogue just doesn't sound as clear as the rest of the front soundstage. I picked up a CSi5 from selkec, which I'm anxiously awaiting!

You should get it any day now. It seems like its taking them forever to get it to you.

I also went to frys this morning and lucked into 2 rtia9's cherry for 399 each and they gave me a free psw111 sub with them. I moved my rti150s to rear duty. With 4 of polks biggest towers in my system and the csia6 it sounds effin awesome.
