Polk friends. I had to put my 20 year old cat Sidney down today. He was named after Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols. My wife and I are grieving hard since we do not have kids and he was our life. I know will will get beyond it but today is hard. Please say a prayer for us.

Thanks.

Sorry for your lost David. I understand how you fell, I gave up on dogs after a few lost, they become part of your family and it is hurtfull to see them go. I have 2 sons (both in their mid 20s now) and it was even greather pain to see them suffering when they lost their buddy/pawls. To me, the dog was almost like the third child.

    Take care,

David, what a great life span. The memories and photos you must have!

I'm headed out the garage for a drink, I'll raise a glass for sweet clean kitty cat and jam some Anarchy in the U.K.

    Cheers,

20 years is a great run for a cat and it has to be tough looking back on that. Lots of cats need good homes like the one you provided. Hopefully, you and your wife will soon be able to focus on looking forward to finding a new companion for the next 20.

my brother sent me this after we had to put a pet on their way....................

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
    Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

I'm sorry for your loss....I went through hell when one of my horses passed away while I was in NY on business.....it was a painful experience so I can definitely relate. Focus on the good memories, that helped me...

We have lost 4 buddies in the last 12 months....it's never easy getting over it. I really don't think you ever do... but at least as time goes on you focus more on the happiness you had instead of the emptiness you now feel.

We "adopted" my daughter's 4 yr old dog recently and it has helped. I'm sure you know you gave him the best you could and he did the same for you!
Yep, my name really is Bob.
