Polkies,
Since I know that there are quite a few notebook shoppers here, I am in the market to find the following Black Friday deals:
HP DM3 series 13" Notebook (AMD CPU)
Asus 16" with Nvidia 220M with 1GB Dedicated Memory (Intel CPU 2.53)
Asus 13" (Intel CPU)
If anyone can provide links to the best deal online or B&M for these three, I appreciated much. One of these is for my daughter, the other two are for my sister...
Thanks a ton!

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Asus are pretty dependable, but have you read up on the articles about the newest/latest laptop notebooks and netbooks?
Hardware failure rates/etc.
HP's are among the worst, and both my wifes and my laptop (both HPDV9000's but slightly different model) crapped out in just over a year.Truck setup

I've been told that Asus notebooks are pretty reliable and good. I had Compaq notebook that is pretty reliable for 4 years before it failed (except the HDD, which is Seagate fault more than Compaq). Currently, my son has HP DV5 series, and so far so good. Installed WIN7 last month on it, and it is actually work a lot better than Vista 64 that came preinstalled with.
Sometimes my logic is, if laptop lasted beyond 5 years, than it will be so behind the technology curve anyways that it won't be able to do a lot of the new thing then.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie. -
Tigerdirect has quite a few netbook/notebooks starting under the $300 mark - might be worth a look.Living room:

according to someone over at the fatwallet forums, the HP dm3 will be on sale at Amazon for $499 on Friday. I'm tempted.
