Has anyone here replaced the color wheel on a toshiba (or any other)
DLP? I've been quoted $300 for a service rep to come to my home and do the job. Is it a straight forward job or best left to a pro?

i replaced the color wheel on my samsung DLP. I used some instructions found in the owners thread for my TV on the AVS forum. I would say it is pretty straight forward if you have good instructions. The steps that i used had pictures and everything. I ordered the part online for like $90 i think.

If you are familiar with working inside a PC it is very similar. I would not say it was hard as much as it was time consuming and stressful. did not want to break anything.

Here is the site i used for steps on mine. I know mine was a samsung and you have a toshiba but it will give you an idea of what you are getting yourself into.
