Locked my keys in my car upon arrival to work at 5:45am this morning. WOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Not sure what i'm going to do about that just yet. You'd think i'd be smart and make a spare copy of that key, but nooooooo..... not that smart i guess. :o

Is this a new car? If you have onstar then they can remotely unlock the door

Hahaha, absolutely not. I drive 15-20 year old japanese "shitboxes." It's far cheaper that way for me. This car does seem to be the only car i lock my key in, though. :p

I might do that.... might just have my girlfriend bring me a wire hanger. Can't unlock these doors with a Jimmy, unfortunately.

Watch out with the wire. Had a friend crack his window that way

    no spare key at home?

Eh... honestly, i do this at least 2-3 times a month with this car, and this car only, never had a problem with the wire, and can do it in under a minute at this point. :p The window doesn't have a full frame, so there's not a lot of stress on it.

This also happens to be the only car that doesn't have a spare key. Go figure. :p

If you end up calling someone out to use a slimjim to open up your car, make sure to have them do a back door (if 4-door) or the passenger door (if 2-door) so that if they foul up the process, you haven't destroyed your main point of entry.

Had a friend learn this the hard way.

    Good luck,

    Jay

Edit: see you can get in yourself...Good on ya!

Man... i must sound like the biggest pain in the **** ever... but check THIS out: :p

My passenger side door linkage is broken. It won't open from the outside anyways. Nobody ever rides in it, so i haven't bothered fixing it. It's mainly a track day car, i just felt like taking it to work today for whatever reason. That turned out well, didn't it? :D

Maybe they could go through the hatch.

Most auto insurance policies will reimburse you of you call a locksmith. Allstate has reimbursed my wife a couple times ($50 a pop) when she had a locksmith use a master key.

You might want to consider switching to a 15-20 year old German "shitbox". Those, you have to lock from the outside-with the key.;)

Your day can only get better.

Actually... i still have the spare to the last Celica somewhere. I wonder if that would work.

Eh, i'll just do the wire hanger method, if i can find one.
