Hey, if you want to be a **** about it, i could always point out that i'm posting less negative posts about NASCAR than you guys are each posting about how much you love/loved it. But i'm not a ****.

I'm absolutely not cooler than vc69, i think he's a good guy from what i'm seen, which is why i made it a point to apologize for the misunderstanding. Hell, i'm obviously not cooler than you, either, but i'm goddamn sure i'm a far sight less of a ****.

I already apologized for making it sound like i was beating a dead horse. Absolutely not my intention. Thread was started by the OP stating that he was disgusted with NASCAR. I apologize for sharing his sentiments in one post, and then in another, sharing what i actually liked. WTF.

Do you remember when they had Ken Stabler (the Snake) in the announcing booth. I think it for for one race but he was/is real cool.

My favorite poster and one of the greatest races ever.

Love or hate it, they have real opinions beyond "I hate NASCAR" and experience to back it up.

Easy... obviously there are some strong emotions surrounding this topic. I just meant for concealer to know that I understood his position clearly. I'm not even the OP here but I feel strongly about this subject that is all.

I have a dog in this one, concealer doesn't appear to. That's all I was saying.

Cup cars also race at Infineon in Sonoma, Ca.

Nationwide series has two a year as well, Mexico City and Cirque de Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

    Hi five!!

    I hope Jesse reads this.
As much as I am really disappointed with NASCAR it is still far better than F1. The funny thing is I think I have spent more time watching F1 than NASCAR over the past several years, thats sad. Say what ya want about go fast and turn left, at least NASCAR has lead changes under green flag conditions. F1 sure does have outstanding cars its just a shame they had maybe one lead change under green the whole season :D

F1 lost it's dazzle a while ago as well. It's become an elitist sport. I was hoping things would change when Schumacher left but surprisingly, they didn't. Still one dominate team/driver and the season gets pretty much wrapped up half way through. Very disappointing.

The only series I follow with any real interest any more is WRC. I have to wait a few days after the event to watch the coverage because the only way to see it in the U.S. is to grab the rips off the torrent servers. But for the past few years, Loeb has had the championship tied up before the end of the season and at that point, what's the point?

NHRA is still cool but it takes a back seat to every other sport. Then again, it's way cooler in person but lately the Nationals at the big tracks like Maple Grove, Englishtown and MIR are so expensive it's almost cost prohibitive to go unless you have a horse in the race.

    It's getting sad, honestly.

At least there's still dirt track racing! Nothing like 50 Outlaws circling a 1/2 mile ring of dirt! It ain't racin' if there ain't dirt in your beer!

^HDNET shows WRC coverage, if you get it. Some pretty decent programming.

I know you won't see this, but if someone wants to quote it to throw him a bone, that'd be great.

My neighbor, his son,my son and I went to Wall Township Speedway. While the racing was cool my son got to see some of New Jersey's finest. God damn we got some red neck back wards **** hillbilly MFer's in South Jersey. We have some here in rural Hunterdon County but they have us beat by a mile.

Ya'll come on down here and I'll take you to D'Lo raceway. I think some of those guys are cooking with the same stuff they put in their fuel tanks. But it's a blast about once a year.

We used to have Jackson International here in Clinton, but it closed about 84-85 never to see another race. There is a subdivision where it used to be.

    Ewww! It's paved!

Flemington used to be an incredible track until the malls popped up around it. Then they paved it. Then they put up "sound barrier" walls that did nothing.

I don't even know for sure if it's still open.

    (Apparently it's not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flemington_Speedway )

And Wall Township is a very far cry from South Jersey.

You want a South Jersey track, you go to Bridgeport Speedway.

    http://www.thenewbridgeportspeedway.com/

It's hick-a-rific for sure but the food is good and the people are real nice! Admission gets pricey depending on what event is going on but totally worth it!

If you want drag racing, hit up Atco Raceway:

    http://www.atcorace.com/

And if you want pretty much everything else, Thunderbolt Raceway at the NJ Motorsports Park:

    http://www.njmp.com/index.php

But Wall township is NOT South Jersey. You can draw a line from Trenton, southeast to Toms River, NJ and anything south of that line can be considered South Jersey. Although people in the Mercer, Burlington, Monmouth and Ocean counties would tell you they live in "Central Jersey". But most of the people who think that are those weirdo "Pineys".

I live about 15 miles north of Flemington. Flemington was one of the best dirt tracks in the country. Yeah and it was right here in NJ. Its long gone

New Jersey also has the finest Golf Course in the WORLD, Pine Valley.

It's all south Jersey once I go below New Brunswick or Trenton to me.

I really don't like living here but making due as best I can. My next move maybe to Charlotte, not that anyone really cares.

I've too have completely lost interest in NASCAR over the last few years. To be honest I saw an immediate turn for the worse as soon and Dale Sr. died. Like him or not, he seemed to be the last driver that was able to keep the NASCAR officials in check. Ever since then it has just become more and more commercial and P.C. It really is flat out boring anymore.

I've actually been getting kind hooked on the World Rally Championship lately. It's been far more entertaining to watch.

You have a new track there at Newton. I would expect some excellent events there. I plan on scheduling a race to coincide with a visit to my parents. They live in West Des Moines too.

I like rally, but the highlights are about all I ever get to see. I love the cars! I drive a VW Jetta and would love a tricked Golf. Not likely to happen though.

The Newton track is pretty nice. I've been to a couple of the INDY races there but not a NASCAR event yet.

Just out of curiosity...What part of WDSM do they live in?
