What is an upgrade to RT55s?

I have been fairly happy with my current set-up of two RT55s for main speakers and CS300 as center. Because wife does not want to have anything on the walls in back next to framed photos - we do not have rear surrounds.

We will finally be upgrading to plasma TV from CRT in next couple of months and will likely be moving to Denon 1910 or 2310 AVR from existing Yamaha R-V905.

I saw the great prices on ebay store for POLK and am curious if any of the existing speakers other than the LSi series would result in noticable upgrade from current setup. We use the speakers for 90% home theater and 10% music.

The RTIa floorstanders would be a noticeable upgrade. I'd definately go with Polk Direct eBay store. Hard to beat for the price.

What kind of budget do you have in mind?

Yep, a pair of A5s would be a nice upgrade.

Thanks for the replies. I am hoping to spend around $500 in 2010 and then another $500 in 2011...sort of drawn out upgrade.

I have been looking at the Polk Direct eBay store - how do the TSi floorstanders and the Rti8s compare to the A5s?

RTI8s are the predecessor to the A5 and are pretty close to the same speaker aside from cosmetics and some small timbre differences, so they should be an upgrade.. TSI floorstanders are nice, but I'm not sure they'd be an upgrade from the RT55

We demoed the TSi floorstandeer at Polkfest just last month, it is an exceptional value speaker, we also heard the bookshelf RTiA, small speaker with a great sound, I did like the RT55 very much when I had them, its been a while, but either of the before speakers mentioned would do well for you with the overall nod going to the RTiA line.....RT does mean Reference Theatre.
