I have a friend who has 4 EAW cr57f speakers and he's pushing them with a crown macro tech 2400 amp.
He's got some cheap cd player and the only way he has to turn up the sound is through the gain on the amp.

He wants to run all 4 speakers stereo, and have something to control the volume and maybe act as an eq also without spending a bunch of cash. Any advice would be great in making this system sound it's best.
The speakers are out of a movie theater, and easily the loudest speakers I have ever heard in my life. When I heard them they only had 90 watts going to each of them but now they have something like 600 to each.

Anyway, anything he could add to it to make it sound better he will consider.

um........not to much. Except sell it all to a D.J. or night club, or a theater, and start over with Home audio gear. If he keeps what he has now the only thing he is going to do is go deaf.

No way. They sound tons better then my RTi A5's at high and low volumes. I would love to have a dedicated theater with those speakers. Both him and I love loud music.

Nice PA/DJ gear but terrible for Hi-Fi. If you just want loud, you got it. Buy a small mixing console for a pre-amp and you are set.

Some mixers also have an eq. Numark, pyramid, etc. Just do a google for it, or DJ equipment sites. If that crown has rca inputs Audio Source makes some inexpensive pre-amps
