So, I'm in Taiwan for work and Taichung has several CD stores and they all have an audiophile section. Not too many english CD's to choose from but I did run accross the Miles Davis - Kind of Blue SDM Remaster from 2006. My hotel room has a crap Sony HTIB in the room so I popped it in. I seriously can't wait to get this CD onto my 2-channel at home because it sounds fantastic on this POS stereo.

Looks like a possible must have for an audiophile CD collection.

Anyway... I was in the 18 floor department store in Taichung - SOGO, and in the electronics department they had an assortment of Cambridge, Nad, Warfdale, and some tube gear I've not heard of. The audio listening room had The PAss int-150, and some huge and expensive german amps. Also a pair of German Physiks speakers. Would they play any of it for me? Nope. Not hooked up.

But... It's nice to see that there is a country out there that values good audio equipment and isn't going to hell like the US.
