Lsi 7s or Lsi F/X as rear surrounds?

I recently purchased a pair of Lsi 7s and Lsi F/x to upgrade my 7.1 setup. I am running Lsi 9s up front with a Lsi C.
The setup of the room requires that the rear surrounds are placed at the same depth as the seating meaning there are no speakers directly behind the seating position but instead to the side at both the left and right sides of the seating. My question is given the two different model pairs I will have available for surround use would it be better to run the Lsi7s as the rear surrounds or the Lsi Fx? The remaining pair would be left to be used as the mid surrounds. I primarily use the setup for both listening to 5.1 Hi-resolution audio like SACD and also Blu-Ray PCM, DTS master, or Dolby HD media so the setup is for both home theater 7.1 and 5.1 Music enjoyment.

gpn - I had the same issue. I had LSi7's and because of room constraints they did not sound good for surround sound duty. I replaced with the LSiFX's (in dipole mode) and it made a tremendous improvement.

Thanks for the tip. Question, if you were using stands were you able to use the same stands for the Lsi F/X speakers as the Lsi 7's?

If I read that correctly, I'd also go for LSiFX for sides in whatever mode(bipole/dipole) sounds best to you.

Yes, am using the same stands - Sanus NF 30"", but would not recommend them for the LSiFX's; the base is not big enough. But, since the kids are long gone and we have no pets, the only threat of tipping over the speakers is a rogue vacuum cleaner.

You never know when a vacuum cleaner will go rogue.
