    Those aren't studios.

Well if not....what then? The boxes are clearly marked "Studio" ! I've always thought that that config. (w/out top and bottom slabs) were considered studio models be they black or wood/vinyl. Please educate if you will, and thanks in advance !:)

Hmmm...they are marked as 2B's, have the studio version cabinets, but have the dark walnut vinyl instead of the usual black ash vinyl. I'm going to have to say they are the studio version.

No, the 2A cabinet base is different and uses the blade/blade IC, these are pin/blade.

I thought "studio" cabs were black, I stand corrected.

FWIW, we know their labeling wasn't always 100% correct.

I made the same mistake in the past Mike. Looking closely at these they are an early version of the 2B's as the label shows a blade/blade connection, but they are actually pin/blade. I'm inclined to believe these are leftover 2A cabinets with the riser removed making them into the 2B studio version. I'm 99% sure that all the later 2B studio versions were the black ash vinyl that we normally see.

There are a couple other people on the forum that have very early 2B's that used 2A cabinets.

Those cabinets look exactly like my 2A's. The pin/blade IC means they're definitely 2B's though. My 2A's are blade/blade.

At that price...it'd only really be a good deal with local pickup IMO.

Monmouth IA is right off Hwy 64 on one of the routes I use to get back and forth from IL to the farm in IA. I think the starting price is a little high, but if someone is interested I could get these back to the Chicago area for them.

This reminds me of my SDA 1/1A conundrum...SDA1s with SL1000 tweeters marked as 1-As... oh well, little mix ups make the older product lines more interesting any way.
