Blackberry Storm and Samsung Alias

I work for Verizon Wireless and I have a couple phones that need to move down the road. They have the latest software and they're ready to be activated. Avoid long-term contracts and buy used.
Blackberry Storm 9530(3G) - Black - 9/10 - *SOLD* to Sami
My wife really liked this phone and I like to keep her in new stuff if at all possible, so I upgraded. The Storm's tactile feedback screen works as it should and makes you "think" you're actually pushing a button. It's pretty neat. I have big fingers and found texting to be difficult but it isn't my phone and perhaps I had to get used to it. Otherwise I didn't have much to gripe about but I'm a traditional BB fan. It does VZ Navigator and VCast.
It's a global phone so if you're going overseas, no problem. It was purchased new in 2008 and I am the original owner. It's about $70 worth of accessories and the desktop charger dock is cool and as heavy as a paperweight.
Included: Original Everything + Pink Hard Case, Black Leather Soft/Slip Case and Desktop Charging Station/Dock w/ Power Cable.
Samsung SCH-u740 - Champagne(Gold) w/ Carbon Fiber - 9/10 - *SOLD* to Jdwmap
This was the first upgrade for the wife and I really dig the ease of texting on it. The dual flip is pretty cool and when you get used to the change in menu functions, on flip or rotate, you can breeze thru things. This was one of the first phones specifically designed for VCast music. The Motorola Razr sucks compared to this phone. The VCast interface isn't as smooth as iTunes but it's not bad.
Includes: Original Everything.

3G, unlocked. If you have Sprint 3G coverage in your area and a SIM card from Sprint, you should be good to go.
I might need a spare phone, that Blackberry would fit the need. I'll send a PM later. -
Would the blackberry work with ATT? Do I need to use a data plan with that phone or can I just pop in my SIM card and expect everything to work?
-
The BB Storm isn't unlocked. That's my mistake, so it only works on the Verizon network. Even if it was unlocked, it's only capable of working with At&T/T-Mobile, not with Sprint Nextel.
If it WAS unlocked, you just swap your Sim Card into the new phone and start using it.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Ok, the Storm is not for me then as we are on AT&T and T-mobile plans at our house. We need international roaming which I don't know if Verizon already provides with their 3G plans.

Nevermind, seems like an easy unlock process. I'll take it.

No but if you can get some stuff for Storm 2... just got one as a corporate phone. Much nicer than Storm, the screen actually responds to your fingers in time.
I was at RIM yesterday (one of my clients) where I do have quite a few ex-colleagues, I think I might be getting at least a desk charger from there. I really like that accessory but the Storm charger doesn't fit Storm 2. -

Last time I upgraded phones I wanted a BB, but can't afford a data plan right now, so they wouldn't sell me one. If I buy a used (or new) BB from some other source (you?
), will they let me activate it and use it on my current, non-data plan?

Correct. You have to be signed up for the Blackberry plan although in reality you could use it just like a regular phone.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
