Hey, I can get either a JBL es250p or an Infinity ps212 for the same price.

They are both from the same parent company and I'm wondering if there's a difference that would make one a better choice.

My current setup is:

-Monitor 60 fronts
-CS2 Center
-vintage Quasar surround speakers.
-Harman avr 247 receiver

And the room is 16'x13' with a standard 8' ceiling.

Thanks on any input.

If I had 3x as much to spend haha. I can get the two I listed for extra cheap though. I should have mentioned that earlier oops.

I'd go with the Infinity...the JBLs were prone to amp failure in recent years? But obviously both JBL and Infinity are holdings of the same corps these days..

    Harman International.

Still I like the Infinity better...I think it'll last longer for you....the specs are pretty similar but the Infinity looks like it has better cabinet bracing and their new metal coated drivers.

Just by looks of it, it's exactly the same sub.

I have worked on quite a few of JBLs and Infinities from the previous generation, and similar models (i.e. 12", 400-450W RMS) from both manufacturers used EXACTLY the same amp and driver. So just a different looking cabinet and different label.
So you'll be just choosing based on the looks, since the guts are the same.

Either or, it doesn't really matter.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
