I goobered up those terminal cups with blue ATV gasket maker on the DX9's in the boxes I grabbed from you. It made a hell of a difference! They actually hit pretty freaking had on 16 watts of tube amp power! Bass is sharp and seems cut off. I don't think the boxes are big enough. So I think I'm gonna go with the ports. 2 inch by 5 inch ports should give enough length to vent them properly and some polyfil in the box, should work out ok. I'll let you know how well it goes but the terminal cups aren't leaking or moving and there is a night and day difference. No more distortion either.
