Best Deal Cables

Has anyone used these cables before? I'm thinking of getting some of their bi-wire cables for my front speakers. I currently use the Belden 5000 from BJC. I know there will be a noticable improvement in looks but am wondering if I will be able to hear a difference. The Best Deal Cables would be roughly $100 to bi-amp both my left and right speaker. I'd get the banana plug terminations but here's a pic for refrence:

I have Best Deal Cable HDMI cables with the clever locking pin. They're great, but unfortunately never tried the audio cables. They're a small company and willing to work with you on custom lengths if needed. Very satisfied with the HDMI's.

Yeah I saw that feature on their hdmi cables. It's cool, but I have not had any issues with my hdmi's popping off or anything. Do they have the same sleve as the speaker cables if so a pic would be cool/helpful

I personally have no experience with this brand at all.

What I would like to add is that comparing an hdmi cable offered by these guys won't say much at all about their speaker wire.

If looks are important to you, I'd say make a pair yourself.
Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, and buy a pair used on here or audiogon....a pair that's nicely dressed up and that would sound much better than your current speaker wire. Even if the used cable doesn't look as appealing, take that and dress it up with some techflex, cable pants, heatshrink, some good looking/good quality naners or spades and terminate it. You'll be even happier about it since you did it yourself too :D

I know I was over my simple jumpers, check out the banana plug opinions thread.

Good idea. Does techflex only come in solid colors? I'm not seeing any with the stripes like my pic shows.

You can just heatshrink the cable itself with a color of your choice (wide variety) or better yet, buy some raw cable that comes in a jacket color of your choice. The techflex is somewhat see-through, and comes in few colors as well (not as many as there would be jackets/heatshrink).

Again, is aesthetics more important or sound quality?

for the aesthetics v.s. sound quality issue, I guess the answer would be aesthetics. I know that is kind of a silly statement, but I am satisfied with the sound quality/Performance of my current 10 gauge Belden 5000. Its actually all I have ever used so I don't know any better. I was just thinking that those nicely wrapped cables from best deal cables would look quite nice sitting behind my mains.

I've got some entry-level MITs, definitely a step up from the Belden 5000 wire I was using (thick round grey jacket with white/black sleeved wires).

Punchier bass bass off the bat, midrange was pushed some and the highs...well they came in with better clarity than the DIY cables I had.

I ran 14ga. oxygen-free copper wire, 2 strands per (+) (-) (doubled up per speaker) and braided in a specific manner and compared it to the Belden. I lost some bass compared to the Beldens, but the highs opened up even more. The MITs on the otherhand, outdid both my Belden and DIY stuff easily and I couldn't be happier.

Here's a top view of what I look at, and like I said the other pic is in the other thread.

I got a few comments already by my neighbors and my wifes friends, even more comments when they hear the modest setup :D

An array of cap's to null out bass frequencies....pretty much a suped up high-pass filter for my maggies.

Thing is, it doesn't cut off bass at a specific frequency. Instead, when listening to music the deeper the bass note is the more it's "cancelled" out. Hard to explain but it's as if I put an equalizer in my setup and turned down the bass more and more with the lower and lower frequencies.

Definitely makes it easier to blend in the MicroPro sub!
