I've recently become re-interested in music...been a long time, too long.
Trying to find any old Pioneer 6xx 7xx 8xx 9xx 1xxx woody receiver.
Also, any other woody's might do as well - I just like the look ! The #### neighbors won't let me turn up the Adcom anyways, so...
I can pick it up anywhere within 100 mi of Haymarket VA.

Any 1980/1280 etc will do. -
How about a SX3900...?,but we'd have a shipping to do.Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

REGARDS SNOWWell, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all -
I have an 828, 100% functional, 7/10 cosmetically, dusty, missing a knob, (switch still works, just missing the knob on "source" switch, I usually take the "on/spk sel" knob off after I turn it on, and put it on the "source" switch) some small dings, but nothing a little TLC won't cure. Shipping from here to there (greyhound buses ship heavy stuff a bit cheaper than UPS/USPS if you have a station nearby) is around 30 bucks. I've been toying with the idea of dusting it off and put it on the e-bay for awhile but I have a soft spot in my heart for the old Pio stuff, and no financial emergencies lately (knock on wood) so it still sits here. I'd feel better about parting with it knowing it's going to a good home. If you're interested, I'll poke around and get an idea of the value, and then chop off a nice Polkie discount...

I have bought a lot of my equipment off of this guy. He has a nice vintage hifi shop in the Pittsburgh area.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t -
Already got 2 SX-950's, one SX-750, one non-working 780...really looking for an 850 which zippity2001 has. He's a drive aways though, maybe too far for either of us...

How about a sx-1000tw with wooden case

The only 2 I'm missing are the 850 and the 1250...I can do without the 80 series and newer I guess, altho I do have a couple SX-3700's that work fine.
