This is set for release today and I just played the online, co-op demo from Steam and I have to say its a pretty damn cool game.

Thing I liked best about it was all the ammo and weapons you could want. Dont know if this is exclusive just to the demo but its nice being able to just open fire without having to worry about rationing your ammo.

Graphics were quite good and the action was pretty good. You didnt have to shoot things 5,000,000 times before they fell.

All in all a pretty solid game and looks to be, at least from the multiplayer aspect, a worthy successor.

I'll be ordering this one on Amazon this week, the first one was sick fun. It was my alternative to Modern Warefare. I love the voice and reactions of the Characters during gameplay.

Based on the demo, it's a minor improvement over the original and, in my opinion, is being released way too soon. With all the other great titles released recently, I just can't justify a purchase on this. I'll stick with 4-player co-op in Borderlands for a while.

I would agree for the most part, since I started FPS games with the PC - you can't beat the precision of the mouse. but console gaming has got me hooked...

Agreed. I was a hardcore PC gamer, even won some money in Quake II and III tournaments back in the day but I am now a total console convert. I have mastered FPS, especially games like Halo, on the console and having the convenience of a 360 and PS3 in the living room and them in my bedroom has me fully vested. Love the simplicity of them!

I was much more of a PC purist for these games back in Quake 3 when precision speed were crucial. It just seems to matter less with newer FPS games.

I really think Halo was the game that turned the corner for me. I was hardcore PC for FPS games until I played Halo, and the controls just felt right. Pretty much every FPS on the 360 follows that control scheme, so I find myself sticking with my 360. Also, my 360 is on a 9.1 surround system with a 100" screen compared to my PC with its 24" screen and 5.1 surround. That makes a difference.

Oddly, it wasn't a FPS on the console that turned me on to the console - it was NINJA GAIDEN for the regular xbox...I had to play it becuz of the original nintendo version - but after hours of play, I acclimated to the controller and it was all history! LOL!

I have been a decades long console supporter but after building my first budget gaming PC and playing Half Life 2, Crysis and such Im a convert. I do think the accuracy and precision is better on a PC but I think the main reason I like it better is that I can build my own and continually upgrade it and we know how much we audio freaks are just riddled with upgrade-itus.

I also like the convenience of PC's. When the wife is sitting in there watching Desperate Housewives or some crap like that I can come in here to my computer and fire up a game.

Too bad that's not valid for the 360 version, because this game is not worth the retail price. They completely rushed this release and it's like an expansion.

I'd buy it for $30.

I think it's $40 for consoles as their retail is generally $10 more than PC versions. I played the demo and it's fun mindless blasting but I wouldn't buy it for retail either.

I played through a few maps already. IMO, each finale is much more difficult than the original's.

The wife and I just finished up the offline-co-op campaign of the game (on normal) - what a great game! Now we're going back to pick off the rest of the achievements...and I have to admit, some of them are gonna be a beeotch! (Something to prove: beat all campaigns on expert. Yikes!)
