Go Back to Passive?

I've gone active and passive with the Polk SR's, among others.

If I were to place the tweeter and mid close together (mid in the door, tweeter near the kicks), is it still worth going active or should I use the supplied passive crossovers?

I have the ability to go active, but wonder if my tuning skills are adequate enough to make the speakers sound better going active than what the Polk engineers did when creating the passives.

Tuning skill come with experience. If you enjoy tweaking and tuning on your system then active is the only way to go. However, if youre wanting to just "fire and forget" then use the passive unit and sit back and enjoy.
