some co-workers of mine told me they wanted to upgrade thier 15yr old kenwood system (think it was a rack unit)... and they like the @2500 bose system at Frys...

After them comming over...and listening to real theater...they walked away with
Polk RT35i's
Polk CS245i
Pok Rt25i's
Velodyne CT110....
Onkyo 586?- latest unit with DPLII..

Now they think/know what we do about bose.... Yuck..

just another day in heaven :)

Not a peep today, I think maybe he was one of those kids that wore his baseball cap too much, and too low. You know, now his ears point WAY forward?

He probably cant even hear behind him, I can think of no other excuse. Esp with R10's sellin like hotcakes for under a bone a pair.

I don't get it, he must know some chic that likes Bose or something.

Man, I take some time off to do a little job searching, and look what happens? Since Polk doesn't have any job openings I may just have to visit www.bose.com and see what's cooking! And Russ, I still have my doubts about the R10's. It would make an interesting comparison, though.

I hope you got a case of whoop ****, 'cause that's the minimum you'll need for me, baby! And my Bose, they'll piss all over your RT7's! And then my RT55's will hose them both down. Man, that's blasphemous. Hahah! :D

They are smooth as a prom queen's thighs....

A very smooth, but not terrible heavy ale. Good stuff, if you like darker beers, I think you will like it. Not as heavy as Guiness.

only 3 left, starting to slow down now...

4 beers in 2 hours? Troy, you're nursin' 'em! Cool. Next time I'm out or at the store I'll get some. Thanks. I like some dark beers, it varies. Sam Adams Pale Ale is great.

....and I am kinda hurtin this morning...

Lessee, I started out with 3 4-packs of Bod's pints, I have three left, so I consumed 9 on top of a rack and a half of Mich Lite on the golf course....granted, my stamina isn't what it once was but that is pretty good for me on a school night.

    Troy

Check out the Bod's you will like 'em. They are better on draft but the cans aren't bad....

I grew up actually wanting Bose. My brother first had a pair of 10.2, then got the 901s, then some of those little cubes. I still think the 10.2s sounded fair, but the others sucked. Even in my teens I thought the 901s sounded "boxy". And this is with the drivers pointed in different directions bouncing off the walls. At one time he had them down in the basement with cinder block walls. That's where they sounded the best, but nothing great. Sure there was a wall of sound, but no imaging and very hollow sounding. I like the cubes for what they can do considering their size. But somehow Cambridge can do it better at about 1/3 the price.

I would like to listen to some 401s and some of the Interaudio line. I remember liking these, but I was younger and less discriminating.

I hope Herbie Hancock got paid a TON of money to do that infommercial for the Wave radio. At least when Robert Johnson sold his soul at the crossroads he got something.

I have never heard the 901's, I would like to, just for GP's......

We have covered this before but the thing that pisses me off is that Bose touts them as audiophile equipment and charges accordingly......if you want a small non-intrusive looking setup for ambient noise, I think that the cubes are a good idea, at a fraction of the cost however. To me, it isn't the product so much as the disception behind it.

I have heard some of Bose's book shelves (201's or 301's, something like that) and to me, they sound like cheap bookshelves a la KLH, Jensen and the like.

boddingtons is the smoothest beer i've tried. if you buy it, don't get it in bottles, get in a pint-sized can (they come in 4-packs). it's draft in a can. it's got a little nitrogen ball that gives it a big head like draft when you pour it in a glass. the can's are the same as the can's you can buy guinness in. guinness is also one of my favs.

Little umbrellas, fruity-tooty, 'touch my booty' drinks....

I AM finding some Boddingtons, hopefully in T-minus 21 minutes....

    TroyD, wodom1:

Yes, it is microbrewed. Tell'ya what, email me your addresses guys and I'll send out a bottle to each of ya. If you like it and what more, then will talk. The first round is on me. But, you have to drink it at room temp, no colder. It hampers the flavor if it is cold.

    For future reference...
