Tonight, well Tuesday morning. 4am is the start of the viewing time with best visibility just before dawn. But you need to be some place quite far away from lights to see stuff worthwhile. They are expecting 20-30 meteors per hour over the Americas and if you live in Asia, as much as 300+ per hour.

So if you are up and have good viewing conditions, take a gander skyward. You might get a treat!

These things have a habit of being kind of anti-climactic.

I plan to set my alarm for 4. Taking sleeping bag and chase lounger lawn chair outside to see what I can see as our skies are fairly dark.....well, that is if I don't hit the snooze button.

Depends on where you are at.

A few years ago I had the off-chance of an early morning stripped bass fishing trip planned. We pulled out of the dock around 3:30-4:00 AM and for almost 3 hours it was surreal. Open ocean, no lights and a clear sky. I felt like I was on another planet.

It was so clear, we were having some troubles distinguishing between satellites and meteors.

Where you're at in Mt. Holly, you'll only see the very brightest ones.

At 4 AM, a trip from my bed to my front yard is a considerable foray, so getting out into the open ocean right around then is a negative. It's going to be Mount Holly again.
