Just saw a TV Spot for 2012. I think the background music used is the same one composed by Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind for Kubrick's disturbing original trailer for The Shining. Has anyone noticed this? Also, in the 2012 TV Spot, they show this huge Hummer-Type vehicle fleeing the cascading icy water and I thought: That was Kubrick's idea! The whole sequence of the cascading blood from the elevator doors.....
So, was this supposed to be a homage or a rip-off? The more I think about it, the more irritated I'm becoming.

I think after 6000 years of civilization new ideas are pretty few and far between. Maybe it's a good thing that the Big Plug is being pulled at the end of 2012? :-)

I think the Mguevarra is right regarding the background music is used in the TV sports i just like composition by the Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind.But i like the 2012 TV sports it is the amazing and the format of the 2012 TV sports i like it. -
From the looks of the commercial, 2012 looks like it will rattle my windows nicely when it comes to blu-ray.
